Thieves in Europe!!

By | 2015/09/14

Another story in Spain, which was 6 months ago at Madrid.

We, 5 people, were at a sightseeing spot in Madrid and we were taking photos at around 2pm.

Suddenly there were 1 guy and 1 woman coming to us and showed us their police ID which is obvious a fake one.

They spoke Spanish to make us confuse, but we clearly knew that they were trying to cheat or steal something.

We spent around 10 to 20 seconds to see exactly what they wanted, but we didn’t know this timing was the most dangerous moment.

They then went away and we also left the place.

We started to discuss what was that and I realized that my backpack was opened from the side.

I recalled the scene and I understood that there was 2 people showing us fake police ID, but when they left, they were 3 people.

There was another one behind us!! And I am the tallest one in the group standing at the back of the whole group, which made me the target of the thief.

The happy thing was that I didn’t lose anything.

It was winter time and my wallet was at the inner side of my jacket with chain up.

A third accident was at Stockholm in Sweden 3 years ago.

It was a Sunday in May at 7pm. The sunset was 2 hours later and the sky was still very blight.

I was walking in the city around 1km from the city center.

I didn’t feel dangerous at all.

Suddenly, I felt my pants were cold on the back part of my right leg.

I touch it and I saw that it was red.

I realized that this is the classic way of thieves which was told by my colleagues.

It’s to attack a person with ketchup and to steal something by distraction.

I looked around to try to find someone who may do this, but certainly there was no one.

I found a bench close to me to put my bag and to take tissue to clean my pants up.

Soon after 10 seconds, a stranger came to me.

Obviously suspicious.

He said that this is not ketchup and this is not done by anyone. It’s done by evil spirits.

I just said bullshit, took my bag and left there.

The good thing was that I didn’t lose anything.

The bad thing was that I need to spend a night to use soap to clean my pants and jacket.

These are 3 stories for your future safety from my own experience.

Remember to know that “distraction” is the best timing for stealing.

Remember to buy insurance beforehand for any European trips in case of meeting successful thieves.

I’ll start to rewrite all those 15 articles……sigh……
