A foreigner entrepreneur in Finland: Company registration (6)

By | 2015/07/21

How about registering with the name of my friends who are living in Finland first, and replace him/her later with my business partner in Japan after company registration is done? So that I can do company registration online while at Japan and takes less process time.

I discussed this way with the accountant, and he confirmed this is an available way to go over the problem.

Great!

But…….
Then it’s time to ask friends for a big big big help.

This is an issue of borrowing a name. A high-level request usually can only be considered for the best friends or family members.

How could I have the best friends in Finland since I only stayed 10 months there?

I can only try to ask anyway. Those who may say yes to me. Those who are friendly and nice. Those who may trust me even not much. Those who seem not to ask for money. Those who I don’t owe them any favors yet.

I try to explain the story to my friends one after another.

I try to ask, could you help me, once and again.

No doubts that there is a risk borrowing
me his/her name for me to register a company.

What would happen if I borrow a lot of money from a bank with the name of the company and run away?

No one feels comfortable with this assumption.

Of course.

To land your name for a person you only know less than a year means you are really stupid.

But I’m so happy I know someone so stupid in the positive meaning.

After being said No for still less than 10 times, I’m lucky that a friend of mine trusted me and said yes to me.

I was so happy.

How could she trusted me?

Amazing.

I really appreciate her. Thank you so much.

Thanks for her help, I can finally submit my application.

The accountant helped me to produce all related documents and fill in the application form online in advance.

I only need to log in to the online registration system with my internet bank ID, confirm all documents there and click the button “sign”.

I have opened the corporate bank account and transferred share capital to the account in May, so I have the account balance certificate. I uploaded the balance certificate to the system and click “submit” to complete the whole process.

Finally!! I get it done!

The whole process was much more difficult than I expected.

The problematic process in start-up grant application, the compulsory rule to use Finnish for registration and documents and the necessity to have 2 members of board brought the difficulty for me, a foreigner entrepreneur in Finland.

Soon my marketing service contract will be ready from the legal service company. After the company being registered, I’ll be able to focus on my business!!
