Your choice inside a Japanese company is to hold and wait.

Wait for 3% increase in your salary every year and wait for some chance of promotion that may come once every 3~5 years.

It is also valuable to mention that Japanese company utilize position change to make you feel you are promoted.

For instance, one may feel promoted by being moved from Accounting Department to Business Development Department with the same salary.

The most significant benefit is that no one will be fired, which is one of the typical Japanese culture.

It’s called “life-long employment” and “rising salary with rising age”.

No, this is not what I want.

I grew up the business and I wanted to be accredited!

Since I am a foreigner in Japan and I came to Japan for further challenges, I believe you can understand that I cannot stand for working in a small range and keeping waiting for chances.

Then, I moved, to a United State based company in Tokyo.

The range of my work expanded 10 times.

The salary was raised amazingly.

I got freedom I never had.

I started to save money and get prepared for doing my own business.

No matter how free it is, it is a business of somebody else after all. There is always a decided range of your work.

I want more freedom!
I want to work freely!
I want to do businesses that are helpful for people.

So I decided: I should start my own business.

The problems are when and how.
