旅行和旅人(1)

28天的長途旅行也終於到了最後四天

在旅行中由於不斷的移動跟排得滿滿的行程, 很難有時間可以好好來寫個稿

除了像現在從芬蘭最南端的赫爾辛基一路坐12小時的長途火車到位在北極圈內的芬蘭北部(一個叫做Rovaniemi的城市)之外, 實在很難有可以靜下心來寫東西的時間

現在的時刻是22:40, 外面的氣溫是零下6度

回想這次的旅行是24歲在紐西蘭度假打工時5個禮拜的長途旅行之後最長的一次了

從芬蘭的首都赫爾辛基出發, 在德國的柯隆待三天, 法國的Strasbourg待兩天, 巴黎三天, 蒙山米雪爾兩天, 巴塞隆納三天, 馬德里兩天, 里斯本三天, 倫敦六天, 到最後從今天開始的芬蘭北部四天

在不一樣的土地上跟不一樣的友人旅行實在是很有趣的事, 正所謂人生四大喜事之一: 他鄉遇故知啊(不過有一些不是故知, 哈哈)

一開始的德法一週之旅是跟在芬蘭留學認識的日本人留學生一起去的, 一行中除了我之外的六個人每個年紀都比我小十到十三歲, 都是貨真價實的年輕人啊

雖然他們彼此個性各有所異, 但是每個人的身上都充滿了活力與能量, 從他們每天的活動力與行為舉止中就可以感受到他們光明的未來

即便他們也有年輕特有的煩惱, 但是在比他們大上許多歲數的我來看, 這些煩惱實在是很令人羨慕的煩惱

雪和腳踏車

在熱帶國家的台灣出生長大, 在雖然冷但是不會下很多雪的東京住了八年多, 至今尚未經歷過與雪共度日子的生活

這次在決定要來到芬蘭的時候就已經有了一定的覺悟, 但是種種的全新體驗還是讓我印象深刻

最近是在大雪中騎腳踏車

或許各位讀者對芬蘭的地形並沒有太深的印象, 但是如果看一下Google map的話可能就會發現芬蘭幾乎沒有山, 感覺就好像一大片平原

就我住在芬蘭南部中央的城市Jyvaskyla的感覺來說, 的確是沒有山脈, 但是也沒有平原啊!

山丘很多, 大多是高低差30公尺左右的丘陵, 我住的地方跟我所上的大學都是在山丘上

所以我每天出門時候是騎腳踏車飆下山丘, 每天傍晚的時候就是推腳踏車上山, 坡度大概是25度, 其實是還蠻陡的

Snow and bike

As born and raised up to 24 years old in Taiwan and lived in a partial snowy country, Japan, for 8 years, I still never experienced a long-stay life in a snowy area or country.

While deciding to come to Finland, I understood I’ll experience very differently from my life so far. But I was still so excited for every new experience I had in Finland.

The recently impressive one is to bike in heavy snow.

I’m not sure your image about Finland, but if you check the Google map of Finland, you may feel that there are no mountains and most areas are flat.

As I’m living in Jyvaskyla, southern central Finland, I can say that there is indeed no any mountains, but it’s not flat all the way.

There are many hills. The height of these hills could be around 30 meters. My apartment and my university also locate on hills.

雪と自転車

南国の台湾で生まれ育ち、一部が雪国の日本に8年以上も住んだが、さすがに雪国の中での生活は今まで未経験だった。

今回フィンランドに来てある程度覚悟があるものの、初体験のことはやはり多い。

最近は大雪の中での自転車だ。

読者のみなさんはフィンランドに関するイメージはよくわからないが、グーグルマップで見ると山脈が見当たらず、平野のように感じるかもしれない。

確か山脈はほとんどない。でも平野でもない。

丘が多いのだ。高低差30メートルなどは普通に多くあり、私の住む場所も大学もこのような丘にある。

なので、毎日の出かけは丘の斜面を自転車で降り、帰りに自転車を押して登る。傾斜度は約25度くらいだろうね。結構急な感じがする。

このような斜面に雪が敷き、自転車乗って降りるのを最初結構ビビったけど、今は何となく大丈夫ようになった。

変化、未来と代価

難しいものだ。

 

人生を歩んでいると、変化が伴う決断を下さなければいけない時がよく来る。

 

彼氏・彼女と別れること

地元を出て大学に行くこと

国を出て海外に行くこと

今の会社を辞めて転職すること

住み慣れ切った部屋から出て引っ越すことなどなど

 

 

変化って怖いものだ。

慣れたもの、人、場所がなくなるから。

周りのもの、人、場所は知らなくなるから。

未知。不安。孤独。高い代価。

 

そのため、人はなかなか変化が伴う決断ができない。

その決断をするにかかるコストはあまりにも高く感じる。高すぎるくらい。

Change, future and cost

It’s so difficult.

While walking forward in our lives, we face many critical points where we need to make important decisions.

To decide to break up with boyfriend or girlfriend, to decide to leave hometown for university, to decide to leave home country to a place you never know, to decide to quit your job or to decide to move to other apartment from a place you are extremely familiar with.

Changes are something terrifying.

Because you are away from where and whom you’re familiar with.

Because you are going to a place where you know nothing and nobody.

Uncertain, anxiety, loneliness. They are all costs.

Therefore, it’s always difficult to make such decisions.

People usually feel the costs are so high that they can never afford.

So people stay. They just stay where they are and what they are.

Won’t they regret for doing nothing?

變化, 未來與代價

這是很困難的東西

在人生之中總是會有需多面臨抉擇的時刻, 而這些抉擇也往往伴隨著許多衝擊人生的變化

譬如說決定跟男友或女友分手, 決定離鄉背井到外地求學, 決定出國生活, 決定離開現在的公司另謀發展, 決定搬離住了很久很熟悉的公寓

變化往往令人恐懼

因為至今為此一直都很熟悉的人事物會消失

新環境中周遭的人事物都會變得極度陌生

未知, 不安, 孤獨都將出現, 而這些都是尋求變化所帶來的代價

也因此, 伴隨變化的抉擇往往使人猶豫卻步

這些代價往往使人覺得難以承擔, 就好像這些代價高到永遠無法回復一樣

所以人們選擇維持現狀

但是, 不會後悔嗎? 就這樣好嗎?

「我不知道」往往是那個答案

恩, 是啊, 我想很少人會知道吧

所以往往就讓它一直不清楚, 一直都不知道

Jyvaskyla生活資訊

今天為了將前來Jyvaskyla念書的人而寫

在Jyvaskyla有兩所比較大的大學, 一所是擁有學生人數約一萬五千人的University of Jyvaskyla而另一所是學生約六千名的JAMK科技大學

而從赫爾辛基到Jyvaskyla的交通方式有飛機, 火車跟巴士, 最便宜的是巴士, 而主要的巴士公司則有下列兩間

MATKAHUOLTO
這家公司的主要優點有下列三點
(1) 芬蘭最大的客運公司, 擁有最多的路線與班次
(2) 從赫爾辛基的Vantaa國際機場可以直接到Jyvaskyla, 很方便
(3) 雖然因日期與時間而異, 但有時候可以訂到極度便宜的票, 筆者選擇了2014年8月2日凌晨4:40的班次從機場直接到Jyvaskyla, 只要7.5歐元!!(通常的成人全票約55歐元, 而學生票則大概是23歐元)

Life information in Jyvaskyla

Today I wrote for those who will come to Jyvaskyla for study.

There are 2 major universities at Jyvaskyla, one is called University of Jyvaskyla owning about 15,000 students and the other one is call JAMK Applied Science University owning around 6,000 students.

You can take flight, train or bus to travel from Helsinki to Jyvaskyla, but the cheapest one is bus. The major bus companies are as following:

MATKAHUOLTO
There are mainly 3 benefits of using this bus company.
(1) The biggest bus company in Finland and owns the most routes and the most frequent schedule.
(2) Providing a route to travel from Helsinki Vantaa Airport to Jyvaskyla directly.
(3) A ticket could be as cheap as 7.5 euros to move from Vantaa Airport to Jyvaskyla. I booked an early morning (4:40AM) seat on 2nd August 2014 with the above price. By the way, the general adult price from Vantaa Airport to Jyvaskyla is around 55 euros and student ticket would be 23 euros.

ユブァスキュラ生活情報

今日はユブァスキュラに勉強しに来る人のために書く。

ユブァスキュラには大きいな大学が二つあり、学生数1万5千人いるユブァスキュラ大学と学生数6千人いるJAMK応用科学大学。

ヘルシンキからユブァスキュラまでは電車、バス、飛行機など多くの交通手段があるが、一番安いのはバス。主に使うバス会社は下記の二つ。

MATKAHUOLTO
このバス会社の利点は三つ。
（１） フィンランドで一番大きい（多分）、運航路線が一番多い
（２） ヘルシンキバンター空港から直接ユブァスキュラのバスがあり、便利
（３） 時間帯や日によってたまにすごく安いチケットがある。筆者は8月2日の早朝4:40のヘルシンキバンター空港→ユブァスキュラのバスチケットは税込、予約代込みで7.5ユーロ！（通常価格は約55ユーロ、学生割引でも約23ユーロ）

第三次進大學

一邊念商學碩士課程一邊準備創業, 實在難以拉高寫部落格的優先順序

但是還是很想用部落格整理自己的思緒, 還有寫下自己的紀錄

所以, 就寫最重要的事吧

課程是九月的第二個禮拜開始, 直到十月下旬的現在才稍微有喘息的空間, 下一波是十一月到十二月, 之後第三波是一月中開始, 第四波是三月中開始

那我在過去兩個月中感受到最重要的事是什麼呢?

或許是在念書的過程中所感受到明確的目標與目的吧

進大學的次數來算, 這以經是第三次了

第一次進大學是在台灣, 當時進大學的理由很可笑:「因為大家都說進大學之後每天都不用念書, 每天都可以一直玩」所以我就進了大學

第二次進大學是在日本念碩士, 進大學的理由是「我想要碩士的學位」還有「我想在國外生活看看」

而這次是「我想要學對創業還有經營上有幫助的知識」跟「想再次到不一樣的國家生活看看」

The third university life

While studying in a master’s program in business and preparing for starting my business at the same time, it was extremely difficult for me to raise priority for writing a blog.

However, I still want to rearrange my thoughts emerging in my daily life and leave them as records on my blog.

So I try to write sown only those I think the most important.

Classes started from the second week in September and finally I got some easier days now at the end of October. (the next wave will come in November and December and the third and fourth waves come from middle of January and middle of March)

Then, what was the most important thing in the past 2 months?

Maybe it’s the realization of my purpose and goal in studies from others.

This is already my third time to enter a university.

The first time I entered a university, which was in Taiwan and the reasons of entering a university are “people said that college students don’t need to study and they can play every day”. I entered a university with this kind of reasons and pasted my college life.

3回目の大学

ビジネスの修士課程を勉強しながら起業の準備もやる中でなかなかブログを書くことの優先順位を上げることができない。

でもその中で自分の思う大事なことは整理したい、残したい。

なので、一番大事なことだけ書くことにする。

授業が9月の2週目から始まり、10月下旬の今になってようやく一段落。（次は11月～12月上旬。そして冬休みを経て1月～2月が第三段落で3～4月が第四）

この約2ヶ月の間で感じた一番大事なことはなんだろう。

勉強している中に定めている目標と目的だろうね。

大学に入ったのはこれで3回目。

始めては台湾で大学生になり、理由は「皆が大学生になれば毎日試験勉強しなくていいし、遊び放題だというから」。こんなことで大学に入り、日々過ごしていた。

2回目は日本で大学院に入った。理由は「修士学位がほしい」と「海外で生活したい」とのことだった。

今回は「起業に役に立つ知識がほしい」と「もう一度海外で生活したい」が理由だ。

フィンランド語の筆記試験

最後は私が受けた最も基礎なフィンランド語(1)のコースの筆記試験だ。

基本的に文の理解と文を作る能力が評価される。

なかなか面白い試験内容だった。

最初はフィンランド語で苗字、名前、電話番号、住所、郵便番号、メールアドレスなどが書かれる欄に自分の情報を記入する。これで上記の単語を覚えているかを評価する。

次にフィンランド語で書かれている短い疑問文と回答文、と同じ意味の英語文が書かれてあり、フィンランド語の構造と英語の構造の違いを比較する問題だった。回答方法は同じ意味をする単語を選ぶことと、構造の違いを述べることだった。

この問題は、文の基本構造に対する理解を評価する。自由論述で自分の気付いた違いをそのまま述べればいいし、正解に囚われることはない。

次は、14個のフィンランド語単語を二つずつペアにすることで新しい単語を4から6個作る問題だった。作られた新しい単語の合理性が必要で、説明を短く書く必要もある。

Finnish reading and writing exam

The last exam in this basic Finnish language course is the reading and writing parts.

It’s the evaluation of how students understand basic passages and students can write in Finnish.

That was a quite interesting exam.

The first part of the exam showed a format written in Finnish and asked you to write your last name, first name, phone number, address, post number and e-mail address, which was evaluating your vocabulary of recognizing these “name”, “phone number” words in Finnish.

Then the second part started with a pair of short conversation of a question and an answering sentence. The 2 sentences with exactly the same meaning were written in English and Finnish respectively, which means there were 4 sentences, 2 in English and 2 in Finnish. The questions in this part asked students to compare the difference in structure between English and Finnish. The way of answering is to choose the parts with the same meaning in 2 different languages and to describe how they are different as well.
